Medical Care at IIS

Part of the registration procedure requires that parents provide a copy of their child(ren)’s immunization records, indicating the type and date of all vaccinations which their child has received. The School also needs to know of any special medical conditions or allergies to which the child is prone, with information about medications and other emergency procedures.

If a student is injured or ill in school and treatment is required, an accident report-slip is completed by the class teacher to inform the Head of School / School Administrator who communicates with the parent. All students are registered by the School with the Alpha-Beta Medical Center situated less than 100m from school. In the case of any serious injury sustained at school, the child will be taken to the clinic for treatment.

The school also has 4 trained first-aider who are competent to adminster first-aid treatment if and when neccessary

The School reserves the right to send a student home if he/she is not considered well enough to be at school, or if his/her condition is contagious.  In this case, the parent will be telephoned and asked to collect the child immediately.

Parents are urged not to send their children to school if they have a high temperature, a bad cold or any other obvious ailment
